The "Hands and Feet of Christ" in our organization definitely belong to national leaders from indigenous congregations first. As we bring the rescued orphans to Christian orphan care centers it is the local pastor and his family who become legal guardians and initial caregivers. The permanent sitters of our choice are the widows from our congregations. With no means to survive, instead of surrendering to their own grief, supported by our organization they become priceless caregivers for the kids. "Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress…"  James 1:27 Daniel Abourmad is Executive Director for SEA Ministry. He is the main contact person for fund raising and sharing information with donors in North America. Born in Canada, married to one of our Thai leaders Tutu Bee, Dan became a natural liaison between the North American partners and the co-workers on the churches and fields of Thailand.
This is Dan’s short story and testimony: In October 2008 a friend of mine invited me visit a Thai orphan home. I saw the kids, how little they have and how loving and appreciative they are. Their pure hearts were like nothing I've ever experienced. I started to fall in love with them. Until then I was a person who thought mainly about myself and had no peace in my life. Suddenly I cared for group of little children I hardly knew, and my life had new meaning and was full of contentment.   Friends told me it was Jesus, and The Holy Spirit working with me, but I was Jewish and I believed in just one God. The whole Jesus and Trinity concept were strange to me. Nevertheless since I returned home to Canada I started to study the Bible, including the New Testament. I also stayed connected with one of the leaders I met in Thailand: Tutu. Eventually I accepted that Jesus is Messiah and my Lord. I was also falling in love with Tutu. Within two years I was baptized, and in November of 2010 Tutu and I got married. Our wedding was attended by a few friends and supporters who made the trip from North America to join us, but the most precious to my heart:  370 orphans from the ministry were celebrating with us that day. I could not ask for greater blessing! I use to be a truck driver in Canada, now I am privileged to drive for Jesus and the "least of these". Thailand's orphans changed me forever!
